Every year, thousands of veterans leave the service having planned operations, run logistics, led teams under pressure, and delivered under constraints most civilians never face. Then they hit the job market and discover the work they did has a different name, a different vocabulary, and a stack of certifications standing between them and the roles they're already qualified for.
This show exists to close that gap. Each episode is a conversation with a veteran who made the jump: how they translated their experience, which certifications actually mattered, what they'd skip, the moments that nearly derailed them, and what they'd tell somebody starting the same move today. The transcripts stay on the page in full, because the point is to be genuinely useful, not to send you somewhere else.
Twenty-one years in the Air Force, from enlisted tech controller in the late '90s to combat systems officer in electronic warfare and navigation. Retired out of the Pentagon leading the Invisible Wounds initiative. Now assistant professor and assistant school director at Western Carolina University, with a project management master's from George Washington and a doctorate in business administration. He also runs ROSEMET LLC, a project management company.
Five years in the Royal Naval Reserve from 2003, on the officer candidate route, having trained as a radio officer at a uniformed merchant navy college at sixteen. Then a decade in financial services IT, from Goldman Sachs to the Financial Services Authority, collecting PRINCE2® Practitioner and the ITIL Service Manager certificate along the way. Left in 2012 and never applied for a job again. Now runs Brutal Guides and ScoreFunnel.
